About

I come from a military childhood. I come from well-educated parents. My grandparents were artists, lawyers, and a colonel. My aunts and uncles are educators, nurses, engineers, lawyers, and administrators. My DNA says I have roots within Syria. My soulmate saved me and she’s amazing…

Basically, “I’ve made it”.

I’ve made a career out of solving problems with immediate returns at the cost of my own self development. Here on out: here to help the community and business partners within the areas of mixed reality development. I’m here to help, here to play in the mud, and still keep my roots grounded in academic ‘giving back’ by helping students find their way of working in this complex overly complicated world.

My academic backstory

Extended Reality Work

I’ve been building and deploying all sorts of “software” through game engines since 1998. I started with the Quake engine via the WorldCraft Level Editor and as a high school student I helped create a mod called ‘Day of Defeat‘ which later on when to be acquired by Valve – I wasn’t part of the acquisition team – but can still take credit in the name and my dad ended up shipping some very popular levels for DoD. Since 2014 I’ve primarily utilized Unity3D to create tons of VR, AR, and now XR applications. My day job gives me the ability to stay on the edge of creative technology use while my private side allows me to consult and build production solutions within this space.

Aquaculture and #BlueTech

Working with researchers at VIMS, we are exploring how we can leverage on-the-edge compute with existing XR technology and readily available COTS IOT solutions to help accelerate the aquaculture community.
